Barbette Jensen

Barbette is an interdisciplinary process-focused artist. She is always playing with new styles and mediums.

 Her works are created by the layering and blending of colors, allowing them to flow seamlessly across the canvas, as if they were in dialogue with each other. She strives to create work that invites viewers to pause and immerse themselves in the nuances of these transitions, reflecting on the way colors interact, influence, and transform. Each piece is an invitation to experience calm, balance, and the beauty of impermanence.

 Inspired by the natural world — sunsets, oceans and skies. “Through my art, I hope to challenge the viewer to slow down, to feel the gentle pull of the color, and to appreciate the richness found in the spaces between.”

 As a nod to a 70s girl, she names all her pieces after disco songs and occasionally mixes a little mirror tile into the art.
