Bernard Lee

Bernard Lee (known to friends and family as Barney) was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, during a time of great economic and social change. The city’s steel industry was collapsing, and the city was struggling to reinvent itself.

Bernard’s wide-ranging interests and talents reflected the spirit of his hometown. He studied graphics, photography, and visual communications, and he played guitar in several successful rock bands. He also developed a passion for sound engineering, and he founded Aircraft Studios, a recording studio that served many local musicians.

Bernard’s work as a sound engineer led to opportunities to produce and engineer albums for national artists. He also worked on hundreds of commercials for brands such as Coke, Pepsi, Diet Sprite, and Doritos, to name a few.

In his role as COO at Merging Media, Bernard’s expertise in audio, video, and photography was put to good use on projects in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hawaii, Hungary, Israel, Italy, and Slovakia. These projects enabled him to capture the distinctive character and charm of people and places worldwide.

Bernard’s skill and passion as a photographer are evident in his work. He is able to capture the subtle nuances of light, shadow, color, and texture with ease. His images are both technically proficient and emotionally evocative.

After traveling the world for work, Bernard and his family settled in Ormond-by-the-Sea, Florida. In this beautiful new setting, Bernard has turned his attention to nature, the ocean, the beach, and the river. His images of these natural wonders are stunning and inspiring.
